The Common Death Adder is one of the worl's most venomous snakes. It has a flat, triangular head and a thick body. its coloring is light brown with dark brown/black stripes. The Common Death Adder uses its stripes help camouflage so that it can lie in wait for prey. It is not scared of movement close-by, making it particularly dangerous to humans.

forest, grassland and woodland areas throughout eastern Australia.
