Common Tree Snake ( Dendrelaphis punctulata )

The Common Tree Snake ranges in color from green to dark brown. This species can be identified by a yellow throat and small, fangless teeth. Their body is slender and they pose no threat to humans. If frightened, the Green Tree Snake emits a foul scent. When Sometimes the snake will inflate its fore-body and neck to make itself appear larger to scare its prey into submission.

Distribution & Habitat:

Northern tropics and Eastern Australia. Found in bushlands, river beds, rainforest areas, and anywhere near water.

Diet:

small reptiles, frogs, and fish.

Breeding:

The Common Tree Snake produces egg-layers which produce 5-12 elongated eggs per clutch.
