Slender snake with a tale that tapers to a thin point. Small and easily identifiable due to a white stripe on the upper-lip. They are various shades of black, ranging from jet black to muted dark greywith a salmon-colored underside. This is a small species of snake, with venomous fangs. Due to its small size, the venomous bite of a White-lipped Snake poses a very low threat to humans.
Distribution & Habitat:
Found in Tasmania, and southeastern Australia.
Diet:
Feeds mostly on skinks and frogs.
Breeding:
Generally breed bi-annually (once every 2 years) with 2-10 snakes per clutch. The female gives birth to live offspring.
